Speech Language & Learning Place
At SLLP, Chris and Karol evaluate your child's language strengths and weaknesses. Treatment involves developing an individually tailored plan to address your child's unique needs. Barring mishap, The speech language pathologists (SLP) always work with the same kids, ensuring consistency and security. Since they work with kids between birth and early adolescence, adapting to their changing needs, both your child and you can trust that the SLPs will be there to see your child succeed.
Language is a window through which we experience the world. Without the ability to connect words and concepts, true connection to and interactions with friends, family, and society are monumentally difficult. Ensuring that your children have the communication skills that allow them to interact with thier world is the greatest give you can give them.
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
A SLP identifies and treats communication problems related to language and speech. Speech therapists work with patients that may have apraxia, dysphasia (swallowing disorders), articulation, fluency, language, including social skills, and voice disorder. Speech-Language Pathologists work to improve communication skills through structured play activities, small group social skills, as well as a variety of therapy activities fodesigned to meet specific speech and language goals.
Speech-Language Pathologists are required to complete a master's degree along with completing clinical experience and obtain proper certification from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). CCC-SLP means the speech language pathologists have a certificate of clinical conpetency and meet the continuing education hours required to remain certified. In addition, A requirements for Nebrasaka licensure also have to be maintained.
